FAQs
Getting Started / First-Time Clients
-
Starting therapy can feel like a big step, especially if this is your first time or if you’re used to managing things on your own. Your first session is an opportunity to begin building a supportive, trusting relationship with your therapist.
Every client is unique, so first sessions may look slightly different. Generally, your therapist will ask about your background, current concerns, and what brings you to therapy. These sessions focus on relational and attachment patterns, helping you explore emotions, behaviors, and relationships. For many clients, this work also incorporates somatic awareness through the Gestalt framework, integrating both mind and body to support deeper insight and healing.
Many clients—particularly those trying therapy for the first time or balancing demanding lives—find that having time and space to reflect, share, and explore their relationships and patterns can feel both reassuring and energizing. In these sessions, your therapist focuses on relational and attachment-based work, helping you build awareness, strengthen connections, and develop healthier ways of relating. The conversation unfolds at a pace that feels safe and right for you.

Our relational and attachment-focused approach helps clients understand patterns, strengthen connections, and build resilience in personal and professional relationships.
-
If this is your first time in therapy, you are not alone. Many clients feel nervous or uncertain. Our therapists create a supportive, low-pressure environment to help you feel understood, while exploring experiences, relationships, and somatic awareness in a way that promotes insight and healing.
