Wherever you are in your journey, having support can make all the difference.
About Group Therapy
Group therapy offers a supportive space for healing, reflection, and connection with others who may be navigating similar experiences. Facilitated by a licensed clinician, the group provides a structured and emotionally safe environment where personal work and shared experience come together.
Unlike peer-led support groups, group therapy is guided by clinical attention to both the individual and the group process as a whole. This allows for meaningful exploration of patterns, emotions, and relationships as they unfold in real time.
Within this space, participants often experience support, perspective, and growth through shared reflection and relational experience. This can include developing greater emotional awareness, practicing new ways of relating, and gaining insight through connection with others.
In group therapy you may experience:
Guided support from a licensed clinician
Opportunities for emotional connections and shared reflection
Development of relational and emotional awareness
Insight through interaction with others in real time
Group therapy can be especially helpful during periods of transition, stress, grief, or when seeking a deeper understanding of yourself in connection with others.

Still Figuring Out Friendship in NYC
Many of us find relationships hard to navigate, and for some, that’s especially true when it comes to making new friends. This group is for those who’ve experienced some sort of developmental trauma (e.g., living with a parent with untreated mental illness or alcohol use, physical or emotional abuse or neglect, chronic exposure to domestic violence) in their younger lives and feel its imprint on friendship in adult life.
So much of how we build connection is learned in early childhood—but when that process is disrupted, something tender can remain unmet. Think of this group as a kind of playground for the part of you that still longs for friendship: a place to process what’s old, and to gently learn, practice, and try something new.
If you’re wondering whether this group is appropriate for you and your needs, please reach out to speak with the group facilitator.
This group is open to new members and expected to start in late May to early June, 2026.
Facilitated by Olivia C. Padelukas, LMHC-D
